United Nations: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is keeping an eye on New Delhi where violence is going on between supporters and opponents of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
So far 28 people including a head constable have died in this violence. His spokesman Stephen Dujaric, in his daily briefing, replied to a question that “people should be allowed to perform peacefully and the security forces exercise restraint. This has always been the stand of the Secretary-General.”
He said, “We are definitely watching the situation.” Later, when asked about the death of head constable Ratan Lal, he said, “People need to hold peaceful protests.”
