2021 Yamaha FZ-S 25 Review: Know its pros and cons

Yamaha FZ S 25 is one such motorcycle from the company,

Yamaha FZ S foray into the entry-level quarter-liter motorcycles segment looks quite strong. The BS4 model used to come with a very aggressive design and tremendous performance of this motorcycle, but for 2021, the company has made some minor changes in addition to the BS6 engine.

Yamaha is a Japanese brand and has always never compromised on the quality of its scooters and motorcycles. You will get to see a similar story in the FZS 25 as well.

The fit and finish are quite tremendous. The quality of the plastic is also great and you hardly get to see any panel in the entire motorcycle where there is more gap.

The material used throughout the motorcycle is tremendous. Totally giving you the look of a premium motorcycle.

What has changed? Talking about the changes, the tinted windscreen, brush guards on the handlebars, brand stickers, and golden alloy wheels look quite awesome on this bike. It also gets a bit like an adventure bike look.

Yes, one more thing that sets the Yamaha FZS 25 apart is the new LED projector headlamps, which make the light throw of this motorcycle much better.

Engine and performance The FZS 25 is a sporty streetfighter bike that is powered by a 249 cc single-cylinder engine that is very smooth and super responsive. Yamaha’s engineers have tuned this engine in such a way, due to which you get to see very good torque in each of the gears.

At 7,000 pm, you can pull this motorcycle easily and you don’t even notice any vibrations on the headboard and seats. The power of 20.6 bhp and torque of 20.1 Nm is seen in FZS 25.

The power may have come down a bit, but it has also become 1 kg heavier with the new engine. The engine remains quite quiet at low speeds. However, if you try to give more throttle to it, then the motorcycle feels free to try to accelerate up to 120 kmph in a comfortable state.

The 5-speed gearbox makes for very smooth and fast shifts. But, had one gear more, perhaps this motorcycle could have given a better performance.

ride and handling In terms of ride and handling, this motorcycle does not disappoint you anywhere. The suspension setup seems a bit harsh also because the company wants to make the bike sporty in every way.

Well, you will not have any problem while driving because the seats available in it are very comfortable, wide and soft.

You will get complete rest till you do not come across short speed breakers or big potholes. What is the biggest drawback? One thing that you find worst in this motorcycle while riding a motorcycle is the instrument cluster which comes with a negative LCD display and features white letters in a dark background.

You can drive it daily also and it will not bother you even on long-distance rights. The riding dynamics are also excellent in this motorcycle. Its ex-showroom price in the Indian market is Rs 1.57 lakh and it has become costlier by around Rs 15,000 compared to the BS4 model.

At the same time, it is only about Rs 5,000 more expensive than the FZ 25. This can be a better motorcycle for those who want to upgrade from a 150 cc or 200 cc motorcycle. But at the moment there is a slight lack of technology in it. This motorcycle competes with the KTM Duke 250, Bajaj Dominar 250 and Suzuki Gixxer 250, apart from the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250.
