Milkha Singh: Milkha Singh’s wife dies of Corona, ‘Flying Sikh’ could not attend funeral

Nirmal, wife of legendary sprinter Milkha Singh, has died of Corona.

He breathed his last at 4 pm on Sunday. She was 85 years old. Nirmal Milkha Singh was a former captain of the Indian women’s volleyball team and a former Director of Sports (Women) in the Government of Punjab.

He was admitted to a private hospital in Mohali after being infected with Corona. he is also admitted in ICU at PGI Chandigarh. Because of this he could not attend the funeral.

Improvement in the health of Milkha Singh The health of the corona infected Padma Shri Milkha Singh admitted to PGI Chandigarh is continuously improving. Other parameters increased during infection are also gradually returning to normal.

He has been kept in the isolation room made in ICU Unit-1 of PGI. After being admitted to PGI, he was again tested for corona last week, the report of which came positive. Corona test will be done again in the next few days.

He got infected on May 19 because of the cook Milkha Singh got infected on May 19 because of his cook.

He was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali on 24 May. On 26 May, his wife Nirmal  (85) also had to be admitted to the same hospital due to infection.

On 30 May, He was discharged on the request of the family. After this he remained in his kothi located in Sector-8. On 3 June, he had to be admitted to the PGI due to sudden deteriorating health.

Since then he is under treatment here. On 22 May, his son famous golfer Jeev Milkha Singh also came to India from Dubai.

He is also engaged in taking care of his father. But Nirmal was admitted in Fortis Hospital itself.
