National Mathematics Day is celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.

National Mathematics Day is being celebrated today i.e. on 22 December 2021. The birth anniversary of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan of our country is celebrated as National Mathematics Day. Mathematician by the Government of India S. The announcement of celebrating Ramanujan’s birthday as National Mathematics Day was made on 26 February 2012. Since then it is celebrated on 22 December every year since then. On the occasion of National Mathematics Day, various educational programs related to mathematics are organized in schools, universities, colleges, and other higher education institutions located in different states across the country.

Srinivasa Ramanujan, one of the greatest mathematicians of modern times, was born on 22 December 1887 in a Tamil Brahmin family in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu. Ramanujan was very fond of mathematics since childhood, while he failed in 12th due to disinterest in other subjects. It is a matter of inspiration that the school from which Ramanujan failed twice in class 12th is named after Ramanujan today. Due to his love for mathematics, Ramanujan had mastered trigonometry at the age of only 12.

Ramanujan died on 26 April 1920 at the age of 33 years due to TB disease. During his lifetime, Ramanujan gave 3500 mathematical formulas to the world. Ramanujan composed many theorems at a very young age. He has been honored with various honors by the Government of India for his many contributions.

Srinivasa Ramanujan, also known as the ‘Man who Knew Infinity’ did not receive any formal training in mathematics. However, nevertheless, he made substantial contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series and continued fractions, including solutions to mathematical problems.
