Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj: Misleading information about Maratha warriors from its official Twitter handle ‘Tourism Goa’.
The department on Friday described the Maratha warriors led by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as ‘invaders’.
When this opposition Congress surrounded the BJP government of the state, it was regretted by immediately deleting this tweet.
Tourism Minister said- Investigation will be conducted
Opposition Congress criticized the BJP government of the state for ‘insulting’ the Marathas,
while Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar said that investigation will be started on the tweet.
The Dutch and Maratha were reported to be the aggressors, giving information about the Agoda prison from the tourism department’s official Twitter handle ‘Tourism Goa’.
The Agouda Jail is part of the Agouda Fort.
It was disputed, the tweet
said, ‘Gowda Jail is part of the beautiful fort Agoda which was built in 1612.
This fort, which protected the Portuguese against Dutch and Maratha invaders, was divided into upper and lower fortifications into two parts. ‘
Soon after the tweet, the department deleted the post and expressed regret. The department said in another tweet,
‘In our post about Agoda Fort, the Dutch used the invader.
Told as a strong stronghold against Dutch invaders and Maratha rulers. We regret this mistake and apologize for it. ‘
Kamat said – insulted Shivaji
Ajgaonkar said that such a mistake is unacceptable and he will get the matter investigated. Leader of the Opposition Digambar Kamat shared both the department’s tweets and wrote,
“The irresponsible government of Goa has insulted the Marathas led by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by calling the great warriors invaders.”
