The full name of SD Burman is Sachin Dev Burman. He was born in the royal family of Tripura on 1 October 1906. His father was a well-known sitarist and Dhrupad singer. From childhood, Sachin Dev Burman was interested in music. He used to learn classical music from his father. Along with this, he also studied classical music from Ustad Badal Khan and Bhishmadev Chattopadhyay.
In the year 1947, Sachin Dev gave music for the film Do Bhai. The song of the film Mera Sundar Sapna Gayat Gaye became very famous. It was sung by singer Geeta Dutt. His career took off from here and then he never looked back. Sachin Dev gave music for nearly 90 films in a 3-decade cine career. He has done most films with lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi.
