Islamabad, PTI So far 1,81,088 cases of corona virus (COVID-19) have been reported in Pakistan and 3590 people have died. According to the country’s Health Ministry, 4,471 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours and 89 people have died. During this, 30,520 people were tested. So far, 11,02,162 tests have been conducted in the country. A total of 71,458 patients have been cured of the disease.

Of the total cases in the country, 69,628 cases have been reported in Sindh, 66,943 in Punjab, 21,997 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 10,912 in Islamabad, 9,475 in Balochistan, 1,288 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 845 cases in Ghulam Kashmir (PoK).

Reduction in number of new cases and deaths in Punjab compared to a day ago

Meanwhile, the number of new cases and deaths in Punjab, one of the provinces most affected by Corona in Pakistan, declined on Sunday. In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,523 new cases were reported and 60 people died. A day earlier, 2,538 cases were reported and 82 people died. The provincial capital is the most affected in Lahore province. There were 728 new cases on Sunday, while 1,166 cases were reported on Saturday. However, experts say this is just a one-day decline. It would be of no importance if there was no steady reduction in the number of cases over a long period of time.

Operation of international flights partially started

According to the news agency, after about three months, Pakistan has partially resumed international flights to bring back its citizens stranded abroad due to the Corona virus lockdown. On 21 March, Pakistan suspended all international flight operations to prevent the spread of the corona virus epidemic in the country. The government has now reopened 25 percent of the country’s airspace so that citizens stranded abroad can return.
