This bug is freezing the screens of Windows or Mac PCs using Mozilla Firefox. This blocks the browser. Ars Technica has also released a report. According to this report, this bug reaches the computer through websites and freezes the screen. Hackers show this bug and lock the browser. This bug shows a message. This message warns that your device is working on a pirated version. If they want an original version, they have to call a number. If users do not do this, then their device will be disabled remotely.

What is the message: This message says that stop and do not shut down your PC. We have locked your computer because your Windows registry is illegal. It is using pirated software and sending viruses on the Internet. This window desktop has been hacked. We are blocking this computer for your protection. If you want to save your computer from being blocked, call us within 5 minutes.

If you close the message tab above you will get a pop-up saying that you are about to log in to the XYZ website with the username admin. If you click Ok, nothing will happen and if you click Cancel, you will be asked to enter the username and password to login to the website.

What does Mozilla say? The company has said that if the user gets stuck in such a situation, then it can be closed only by the task close function of task manager and macOS in Windows. One more thing to note is that if you turn on the system twice, you will get all the tabs open. Here once the affected website is loaded, you will see the message with the bug again on the screen. This will only happen when you have activated the Auto Tabs Reopen option in the browser. In this case, keep it closed. Let us know that this by default remains closed.

Xhelper threat on Android users, 131 devices affected every day

Android users have always been complaining of apps affected by viruses and malware. In the coming days, we hear some news in which a new virus is detected. Now new news is coming in which some Android users have complained about the malware. They say that even after deleting the malware, it is automatically installed on the phone. At the same time, even if the phone is factory reset, it gets reinstalled on the phone. This malware is named Xhelper. Over 45 thousand Android devices have been affected by this malware in the last 6 months.

Symantec’s latest report states that Xhelper malware is affecting about 131 devices every day and about 2,400 Android devices every month. The users most affected by this are present in India, America, and Russia. This malware enters the user’s phone through a third-party app. A Malwarebytes report states that it is the source of web redirects. It sends users to the web page that hosts the Android app. From here, users get information about how to side-load unofficial Android apps. The code hidden in such apps downloads the xHelper trojan. Users make money: Reports say that it is not causing much harm to users. It shows popup advertisements and notification spam. By clicking on these, the users are redirected to the Play Store. Here they are asked to install the app. From this, it can be inferred that this malware is making money through the ‘Pay-Per-Install’ Commission, that means that the more apps downloaded, the more malware gang will get money.

Political ads will not appear on Twitter from November 22

Featured

Jack Dorsey, CEO of the microblogging website Twitter, has decided to stop all political advertising on its platform globally. Jack Dorsey has also made some tweets for this. Dorsey has explained the reason behind this decision. He has stated that such advertisements were dominating on the Internet and were proving to be very effective for commercial advertisers. For business advertisements, it can still be called fine, but in politics, it can be a big risk. At the same time, Facebook has said earlier that it will not stop advertisements like this.

Political advertisements on social media platforms are becoming a concern globally on the news of foreign interference in the 2016 US presidential elections. Dorsey said that such challenges are affecting not only political advertising but all types of Internet communication. It also said that the company will issue the final policy regarding this decision by 15 November. This decision will be implemented on 22 November. Advertisers will also be given notice periods before implementing it. The largest platforms for political advertising include companies such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google. These companies globally have tried to bring transparency in the process of releasing data for political advertisements. Dorsey said that we need more rules for political advertising which is quite difficult.

Currently, India is also struggling to deal with the issues of political advertising. The government has also asked for framing of rules for social media firms regarding a matter. Let me tell you that Dorsey’s tweets have received a lot of support. Many Twitter users have also tagged Facebook in response to their tweets.
