Tamil director and cinematographer KV Anand died on Friday, 30 April.
It is being told that he died of a heart attack in Chennai. He was 54 years old. There is a wave of mourning in the film industry after this sad news came to the fore. Celebs are paying tribute to him through social media.
KV Anand started his career as a photo journalist. He then worked with famous cinematographer PC Sriram as an assistant in films like Gopura Vasalile, Meera, Dewar Magan, Amran and Thiruda Thiruda.
Sriram recommended the name of KV Anand for the Malayalam film Thenmavin Kombath in 1994, for which Anand also won a National Film Award.

He entered the field of directions in 2005 after working as a cinematographer for a decade. In 2008, he made Ayan which is an action entertainer film and proved to be a blockbuster. It stars Surya and Tamannaah in the lead roles.
He acted in films like Matraran, Anegan, Kavan and Kappan. There is a wave of mourning in the film industry after the death of KV Anand. All are expressing their grief through social media. His fans are also very sad.
After a brief stint as a photojournalist, KV Anand moved to cinematography in the 1990s. His debut behind the camera was for the Malayalam film Thenmaavin Kombath, which also won him a national award.
Anand has cranked the camera for 14 films in languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. His final work as a cinematographer came with Sivaji: The Boss (2007), the Rajinikanth-starrer directed by Shankar.
